Integrating Jira Account with TestReport

This document provides a step-by-step guide for setting up and generating the necessary configurations to integrate a Jira account

Requirements

Basic requirements for configuring a Jira account with TestReport

  1. Company Name

  2. Project Name

  3. Jira Account API Key/Token

  4. Jira Account Domain Name

  5. Jira Email

  6. Project Key

  7. Lead Account Id

Step 1. Company Name  

Select the company name from the dropdown where you want to create the Jira account.

Step 2. Project Name

Select the project name from the dropdown to create a Jira project. This will be the name of the project in your Jira account

Step 3. Jira Account API Key/Token

Step-by-Step Process to Generate an Account API Key/Jira API Token
2. Click the "Create Api Token" button.
3. Choose a short token name and click the "Create" button.
4. "Copy this token and paste it in the 'Account API Key' column.

Step 4. Jira Account Domain Name 

1. Open Jira: Log in to your Jira instance through your browser.
2. Check the URL: Look at the browser's address bar; the URL is your domain name.  Example :- https://example.atlassian.net

Step 5. Jira Email 

 In the profile section, you’ll find your registered email address under Contact Information or Email.

Step 6. Project Key

The Project Key is a unique identifier for a Jira project, used as a prefix for issue IDs within the project. For example, if the project key is TEST, issues in the project will have IDs like TEST-1, TEST-2, etc.

Rules for Project Keys ;- 
1. Must be unique within the Jira instance.
2. Must be 3–10 characters long.

3. Can only contain uppercase letters (A-Z) and numbers (0-9).

4. Cannot be changed after the project is created.Example :- ABC , EXE .etc

Step 7. Lead Account ID

The Lead Account ID is a unique identifier for the user who will be designated as the project lead. This user will have elevated permissions and responsibilities for the project, such as being assigned issues automatically.

1 Open your Jira account and navigate to your Profile.
2. Copy the Account Lead ID from the URL

Steps to Integrate Jira Account in TestReport

  1. Log in to TestReport.io.

  2. Navigate to the Integration tab in the sidebar.

  3. Select Jira Integration and click Configure.

  4. Fill in the following fields:

    1. Company Name

    2. Project Name

    3. Jira Account API Key

    4. Jira Account Domain Name

    5. Jira Email

    6. Project Key

    7. Lead Account ID

Click Submit to complete the integration.
